Variety
Pays Tribute to Entertainer Joe Cuddy
Kevin and Betty Wall once again played eloquent
hosts with the Variety Club of Ireland, to pay tribute to our own
singer and entertainer Joe Cuddy.
An emotional, nostalgic and fun filled event was
had where all enjoyed a super event in the Grand Hotel Malahide
on 9th November 2008.
The room was stunning in white and immediately there was an atmosphere
of homeliness and friendliness enjoyed by all the 250 people attending,
who witnessed the amazing compilation of Joe Cuddy, Sonny Knowles,
Sean Dunphy, Tony Kenny, Brian Hoey singing their hearts out. Pete
St. John (who is the legendary writer of such songs as ‘Dublin
in the Rare ol’ Times and ‘The Fields of Athenry’
) also give us a memorable recitation.
We also enjoyed Vicky Kenny and Elvis who delighted
us all with their energy and singing talent. Ronan Collins had no
problem enjoying shared MC with all the celebrities there. Joe Cuddy
sang magnificently and was delighted to receive also a tribute portrait
of Bing Crosby by our Variety Artist Yvonne Loftus Kelly on behalf
of Variety Club of Ireland.
Two Coaches were presented, one for Saplings School
and one for Stepping Stones School at this event.
