On a 2km walk from the Mansion House, around St.
Stephens Green and back again, the strollers collected more than
€35,000 for children with autism, with help from the 3 main
sponsors, 02, Merlin Motors and DHL. The money will go a long way
to buying a five Sunshine Coaches to bring children to and from
five autism schools to main stream schools around the country.
As they started their stroll at the Mansion House
at midday, the crowd was waved off by Lord Mayor of Dublin, Cllr
Paddy Bourke. But it was another VIP that the children were interesting
in - and it was the bearded man in red and white who handed out
goody bags and T-shirts and little Santa Claus hats. Due to the
success of this event, we are making this an annual event, so keep
your Santa hats for next year!
